Single tooth implants at Aspen Dental

Overview
Replace a missing tooth with a solution that looks and feels natural.

A single tooth dental implant gives you a secure, long-lasting way to restore your smile. Unlike a traditional bridge that relies on nearby teeth for support, a single tooth implant uses a titanium post placed in the jawbone. The abutment and crown may be joined together as a one-piece solution, depending on your treatment plan. This approach helps support the health of surrounding teeth and gives you confidence to eat, speak and smile with ease.

  • Looks, feels & functions like your real teeth

  • Implant made to last a lifetime¹

  • Preserves the health of surrounding teeth

  • Natural-feeling & permanent

¹Dental implants can last a lifetime. Studies show that dental implants are likely to last at least 25 years with proper care and maintenance.

What are single tooth dental implants?

A single tooth dental implant is a simple three-part system that replaces one missing tooth with a strong, natural-looking result. The implant post is placed in your jawbone and bonds with it over time, creating a steady foundation that works much like a natural tooth root. Once the area heals, a small connector is added to support your custom crown. The crown is shaped and shaded to blend with your smile and restore your ability to bite, speak and smile with confidence.

Custom crown
A custom crown is placed on top of the abutment to complete the restoration and blend in with your natural smile.

Abutment
To support the final restoration or prosthetic a connector piece attaches to the implant once the area has healed.

Titanium implant

A small biocompatible post is placed into your jawbone where the missing tooth root used to be, creating a stable foundation for your new dental implant.

Frequently asked questions about single tooth implants

Single tooth implants include two main parts: the implant post and the crown. The implant post is made to last a lifetime with proper care and maintenance. It integrates with your jawbone much like a natural tooth root. The custom crown, however, may need to be replaced over time due to normal wear, often after several years.
You can help support the longevity of your implant with proper implant cleaning:

  • Brushing and flossing every day

  • Seeing your care team every six months

  • Avoiding tobacco

  • Wearing a night guard if you grind your teeth

Coverage depends on your insurance plan. Some plans contribute to part of the implant treatment, while others may cover the crown more often than the implant post. Your Aspen Dental care team will review your benefits, verify your coverage and explain how it may apply to your treatment. If you do not have insurance, 3rd-party financing and the Aspen Dental Savings Plan³ can help make single tooth implants more affordable.

Most patients are surprised by how easy the process feels. Local anesthesia helps keep you comfortable during the procedure. You may notice some pressure or movement as your care team works. Afterward, mild swelling or tenderness is common for a short time and can typically be managed with ice packs or over-the-counter options. Many people return to normal routines within a few days.

Your care team will share clear aftercare instructions so you know exactly what to expect during healing.
