Does dental insurance cover general dentistry services?

Most insurance plans cover preventive services like hygiene services, cleanings, exams and X-rays. Coverage for crowns, root canals or cosmetic dentistry services can vary. At Aspen Dental, we accept most insurance plans but do not accept Medicaid. What is the difference between dental cleaning and periodontal treatment?

Standard dental cleanings remove plaque and tartar above the gum line. Periodontal treatment goes deeper, targeting buildup below the gum line to specifically treat gum disease. After your exam, your provider will recommend the right option based on your gum health.

I arrived for my first consultation due to severe pain in a tooth wanting to be evaluated for a top denture plate. I arrived x-rays were taken immediately by Chelsea and I was taken to a room. Dr. Story arrived and told me she could help me today with my toothache and extraction of teeth and have me a dentures ready by Monday!! I was ecstatic. I was sent to office manager, Heather, where I was assisted with getting a payment plan set up with an outside source and teeth pulled and all things done to get ready for dentures Monday. The nicest Doctors and dental assistants. Dr. Story and Dr.Blanc both assisted me today. I highly recommend this office to anyone. Excellent service!! I thought I had posted this...but had not..I am now 6 months post getting dentures..and today I went in for my permanent set of dentures. So happy with the treatment I have received here in the Shelby office. I would recommend them to anyone! Thank you for giving me the best smile I have ever had in my life.
