Do dental emergencies require oral surgery?

Not always. Some emergencies can be resolved with a filling, crown or antibiotics. If surgery is needed, such as a complex extraction, your provider will review what’s recommended in your care plan.

Will dental insurance cover dental emergencies?

Most insurance covers at least part of emergency care. At Aspen Dental, we accept most insurance plans but do not accept Medicaid. Before treatment, we’ll check your benefits, explain coverage and provide a written estimate for you to review.

How much does emergency dental care cost?

Costs vary depending on the procedure. Insurance usually covers part of the cost. Aspen Dental also provides 3rd-party financing and the Aspen Dental Savings Plan¹ for patients without insurance. ¹The Aspen Dental Savings Plan is NOT insurance. Please see plan terms and conditions for details.

Should I go to the emergency room?

Most emergency rooms (E.R.) are not equipped for dental procedures. Go to the E.R. only if swelling makes it hard to breathe or swallow, or if you have a high fever with infection. Otherwise, call Aspen Dental for urgent dental care.

If you see this location in your search results, do not hesitate, and lock it in immediately. I came in with severe wisdom tooth pain and needed urgent care, and they took me in right when they opened at 8 AM. The staff was incredibly friendly, the facility is new, and the whole place runs efficiently. The doctor addressed my issue right away and relieved a level of pain I genuinely didn’t think was fixable this fast. Leaving the office felt like a huge weight was lifted — instant peace after 24 hours of nonstop pain. Highly recommend. Excellent care, easy access, and top-quality service.

Aspen Dental in Harriman NY saved my life. I went in to have a cap fixed. Dr Kramer did a full mouth Xray to just make sure everything was OK. He found a hole in my jaw on the other side of my mouth and he urged me to have it investigated immediately. This hole Was completely unrelated to my cap. It was cancerous! During the work up to have my jaw reconstructed another cancer was detected, completely unrelated to my jaw cancer! Such a journey!
