everyone was nice and professional and I must say at 69 this is the first time I enjoyed my trip to the dentist.
i am scheduled to have at least 5 extractions of teeth that have abcessed and cause symptoms similar to sepsis such as extreme taste to food and drink alteration, malnutrition due to food and drink tasting terrible; chronic fatigue; rapid heart beat; electrolyte imbalance; and muscle wasting away. It has been a long 4 month journey with me in the medical center in dothan, alabama for 4 days, without getting a proper diagnosis. All along i felt like it was the condition of my teeth that was causing my issues. I decided to go to a biodentist in dothan that took no insurance, which i had, and the bill was upwards of 16,000.00, which i was not going to pay years on a payment plan for. I am on social security disability as well, and that factored into my financial decision. So i was going to dixieland dental who probably would have just pulled all the bad teeth and re-cemented my crown, but i was concerned about further infections and the fact that i may have mercury poisoning due to decayed areas around my 50 yr old silver fillings which are 50% mercury. So, aspen dental was who i decided to settle with and the first day there i felt great about the "care" and knowledge factor along with the professionalism, which carried through to my day two visit where one of the best and most knowledgeable dental hygienist....I should know her name.......dealt with me and gave me what is called a scaling and i left with oral antibiotics as well as antibiotic drops that were place near all abcesses. My next visit will be for images to be made of my teeth for the surgeon to know exactly how to remove each tooth that has issues and a new crown without metal on it put back on. The dental hygienist that dealt with me did not even have to use needles to deaden my gums around my teeth either which was a relief. I received instructions on what to do exactly after my scaling which involved going way below the gumline to de-plaque my teeth and open up avenues for antibiotics to be placed below the gumline in abcess locations. So i was also given a phillips water pic to flush plaque from between teeth; a prescribed toothpaste and mouthwash specifically designed to fight periodontal disease, and a new phillips electric toothbrush. So halfway through this process i give them five stars and i hope i can give them 55 stars at the end!!!!!!!!!
