How Aspen Dental Supported Seniors at the Plano Senior Expo
Aspen Dental supported seniors at the Plano Expo by answering questions about implants, dentures and affordable care.

On February 25, the Aspen Dental team joined the Senior Expo USA in Plano, TX.
The event brought together older adults, caregivers and community partners looking for resources, answers and connections. Our team spent the day listening, answering questions and helping people better understand their dental care options.
The focus stayed on what matters most — making dental care easier to understand and helping people feel more confident about their next step.
Our Dallas Area leadership and clinical teams came ready. Representing three of our local practices were Dr. Roshni Varia from Plano, Dr. Jhansi Tulasi from Rowlett and Dr. Geeta Mandavilli from McKinney — clinicians who are committed to helping patients access care in their communities.
Also representing Aspen Dental was Dr. Hemanth Kunduru, who brought additional experience in implant dentistry and helped answer questions from attendees throughout the day.
That level of access to care and information made a meaningful difference for many people at the event.
From the moment the expo opened, our booth stayed busy. Many seniors came with questions they had been holding onto for months — sometimes longer. Questions about ongoing discomfort, missing teeth, whether treatment was still an option at their age and how care might fit into their budget.
Our team focused on providing clear, honest answers to help attendees better understand their options.
Dr. Varia reflected on that experience after the event: “So many seniors put off dental care because they’re unsure where to start. Being here, answering questions and helping people understand their options is one of the most rewarding parts of our work.”
Events like this create space for open conversations. Without the structure of a typical office visit, people can ask questions, learn at their own pace and leave with a clearer understanding of what they can do next.
The conversation everyone was having: dental implants
One of the most common topics throughout the day was dental implants.
Many attendees assumed implants were not an option for them — whether because of age, cost or uncertainty about the process. Our team, with support from Dr. Kunduru, walked through how implants work, who may be a candidate and what the process can look like.
The goal was to make the information clear and approachable so people could better understand their options.
A common response was: “I didn’t know that was an option for me.”
That shift — from uncertainty to understanding — is an important step in helping people move forward with their care.
Making care affordable
Cost was another frequent concern.
Our team spent time walking attendees through the Aspen Dental Savings Plan and available financing options, helping them understand how care might fit into their budget.
The Aspen Dental Savings Plan is NOT insurance. Please see plan terms and conditions for details.
These conversations focused on clarity — helping people understand what to expect so they can make informed decisions about their care.
Senior leader Alana Ruosch shared: “Events like this remind us why we do what we do. Seniors deserve care that is accessible, supportive and built around their needs.”
Showing up for the community means making care easier to understand and more accessible.
Why senior oral health matters more than you think
Oral health plays an important role in overall well-being, especially for older adults.
When eating becomes difficult, it can affect nutrition. When someone feels unsure about their smile, it can impact how they connect with others. When oral health concerns go unaddressed, it can affect daily comfort and routine.
Taking care of oral health supports more than just your smile — it supports how you live each day.
