I scheduled a first patient appointment to seek an extraction for a deteriorated tooth. Upon xrays and examinations, I was told by the dentist a thorough plan. Starting with the extraction, including putting me under and also removing several wisdom teeth simultaneously. A partial, implant, etc. I made it clear at the moment I'm focusing on this extraction. After that we can discuss further procedures. I (and my partner whom was called in by staff due to anxiety issues) was then sent to a separate waiting room, and was told by a very lovely staff member that they would be back in 10 minutes with a pricing sheet. A few minutes later, a different staff member came into the satellite waiting room to inform me that the surgeon in that office refused to do any procedure on me. This staff member listed several reasons for the surgeon to reject me including my anxiety issues. All the other issues mentioned (medication clearance...) I could resolve. Due to my extreme anxiety relating to dental experiences was the one issue they would not accept. Even after they told me they would put me under. I was told about a short & long term plan. I was told I would receive pricing information regarding all the potential procedures. Then, out of nowhere, I am informed I am not going to be accepted by this doctor? I did receive a referral, but I am DEEPLY AND IMMENSELY DISAPPOINTED with that specific staff member that handled that interaction; it could've been handled with less judgment and more empathy.
Dr. Alvarez is AMAZING !!! She has worked with me over one year to fix my smile after a prolonged illness. She has a world of knowledge, she was cautious with my special needs as a Lupus SLE patient. We require expertise which Dr. Alvarez had and made my procedures for the most part painless, with fast healing and little bleeding. All issues patients with Lupus face. I cannot thank her, her assistant Ki and all the office staff for their incredible work. I am forever grateful 🙏🏽

She uses skill, precision, and up-to-date techniques to deliver high-quality care. Outside of work, she enjoys playing pickleball, spending time with her dog, and being with her husband and family.
