I was extremely impressed from the greeting from Amanda the manager very professional and knowledgeable. The xray tec wonderful and hygienist. Forgot dentist name excellent and to the point very knowledgeable also.
Clarissa & Lauren were super positive and supportive! They made a scary appointment easier. The whole staff was friendly and ready to help. But did not push anything! I left with a plan and some choices to think about. Thanks for all the positive feedback!
★★★★★ From the very first moment I walked into Aspen Dental in Brattleboro, the positivity, warmth, and welcoming atmosphere were immediately noticeable. Dr. Ahmed is a fantastic dentist — knowledgeable, thorough, approachable, funny, and genuinely excellent at explaining what he’s doing and why. Every question I’ve had has been answered, I’ve never felt rushed, and the communication and care I’ve received have been outstanding. And then there’s his incredible crew — Amanda, Kelsi, Carolina, Alyssa, and anyone else whose name I may have accidentally missed or misspelled — otherwise known, at least in my mind, as Dr. Ahmed’s very own Dental Charlie’s Angels. 😄 These women are an absolute powerhouse. They’re warm, welcoming, funny, attentive, professional, approachable, and incredibly good at what they do. From scheduling and phone calls to answering questions, explaining things, following up, and simply making you feel comfortable when you walk through the door, they make the entire experience feel personal rather than clinical. And those Charlie’s Angels deserve a huge shout-out. They’ve all been incredibly patient, organized, thoughtful, and helpful, and somehow manage to keep everything moving while still making you feel like you have their full attention. They are absolute gems. What I appreciate most about this entire team is that they actually communicate. Questions get answered, conversations continue, concerns are listened to, and you never feel like you’re just another name on an appointment schedule. Dr. Ahmed and his Dental Charlie’s Angels deserve every one of these five stars — and quite frankly, if Google had a Golden Buzzer, I’d hit that too. 🌟 Thank you to the whole Brattleboro team for making something most people don’t exactly look forward to — “going to the dentist” — an experience I genuinely enjoy. — Justin, your favorite ongoing patient 😉

Surgical extractions
When a tooth is broken off at your gum line, impacted or difficult to access, a small incision is made to remove it in sections.

With local anesthesia, your Aspen Dental provider will keep you as comfortable possible. During your procedure, you may feel pressure as your tooth is removed. After your procedure, mild sensitivity is common and should fade after a short period of time. Your provider will provide you detailed after-care instructions and, if needed, medication to manage any discomfort.

Most patients feel much better within a few days. Surgical extractions, especially for wisdom teeth, may require a week or more to fully recovery. Healing is different for everyone and depends on things like your overall health, the complexity of your extraction and how well you follow after-care instructions.

You can usually remove gauze once bleeding has stopped, which may take a few hours after your procedure. Your provider will give you specific instructions to help you heal safely. It’s important to follow these instructions carefully to ensure you fully recover.

If your procedure involves sedation, fasting for several hours ahead of your visit may be required. Your provider will let you know exactly how to prepare. For simple extractions with local anesthesia only, fasting is usually not necessary. If you have questions, reach out to your local Aspen Dental office for further details.

Soft foods are recommended for the first 24 to 48 hours. Options include yogurt, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, soft pastas and smoothies. As healing progresses, you can reintroduce solid foods when it feels right for you. Make sure to avoid crunchy, sticky or very hot foods until cleared by your provider.

Follow all after-care instructions given to you by your provider. Typically, you’ll be guided to: Avoid smoking or vaping, keep your head elevated, use ice to reduce swelling. Once cleared by your provider, maintain good oral hygiene by brushing gently around the area of your extraction.
