The staff were amazing! I haven't been to the dentist in years and was terrified to go this time...but I didn't have a choice, I had to see someone for my mouth pain! The dental assistants were VERY CARING, compassionate, and empathetic... They definitely helped decrease my anxiety and fear of seeing a dentist!
They were very friendly as soon as I walked in.When called back they made me feel so at ease and talked me through everything they were doing. After I was done I sat down with Amanda about they amount of everything and she was so nice and helped me in every way she could so I can get it all done.Went for my first visit and the lady who done the cleaning was awesome and now I am just waiting on my next visit to finish it all up.Everything was so clean.I have no complaints at all Update 7/29/21:I will not recommend this service to anyone. With everything I have been through I went into a depression state and couldn't even show my face out in public.I got a top plate that I have yet to be able to wear and when I go in I always hear things will get better once the swelling has gone down.Well the swelling has been gone and it's worse. My family invites me to go out to eat with them and I can't go bc I can't eat. Then was told I should get my permanent plate soon but I am worried it's gonna be messed up also bc the bite on my temp is way off and one side touches before the other so they have it all wrong.I cry everyday bc of this and even on the phone with Amanda yesterday I cried.I have never felt like this in my life.So thanks aspen dental for ruining my life

What are dental fillings?

A tooth filling is a restorative treatment that repairs a tooth that has been damaged by decay or minor fractures. When getting a filling, your dentist will remove any decay in your tooth and then fill the leftover space with either composite resin, glass ionomer or amalgam. This restores the shape, function and strength of your tooth while helping to minimize any discomfort or sensitivity.

Types of dental fillings

Composite fillings

The top choice for tooth restoration—a resin composite filling is made to match your tooth’s shade for a natural appearance.

Glass ionomer fillings

Commonly used for small cavities, these fillings release fluoride, which can help prevent further tooth decay.

Amalgam fillings

Silver tooth fillings (amalgam fillings) are durable, cost-effective and can contain metals such as silver, tin and copper.

Explore answers to common questions so you know what to expect—before, during and after your dental filling visit at Aspen Dental.

You may need a dental filling if you have tooth pain, visible holes, dark spots, or sensitivity to hot, cold or sweet foods. Getting treatment early can prevent more serious dental problems.

Tooth-colored composite fillings are often best for front teeth. They blend in naturally, bond securely to your tooth and provide strong support in visible areas.

Yes. Modern tooth-colored fillings are strong and resist normal wear. While they may not last as long as metal fillings in areas of your mouth you frequently chew in, with proper care, they can last many years.

Wondering, “do cavity fillings hurt?” No, they don’t. During your treatment, we keep you comfortable with a local anesthetic. You may feel pressure, but should not feel pain. Any mild sensitivity afterward usually goes away within a few days.

Avoid chewing with the tooth that was filled until the numbness wears off. Brush and floss gently around the area as normal, and avoid sticky or hard foods for the first day. Maintain regular oral hygiene and schedule routine dental checkups to keep the filling in good condition.
