Just wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to the great and helpful family of Aspen Dental of Delaware (OH), very professional and very friendly!! I waited well over a decade to return to the dentist, which was my own wrong doing, but the healing process was to begin in early December and on the road to recovery and becoming healthy again! I thank the dental assistants and the doctor for the x-rays, then the extraction of the tooth (12-6) causing the infection, and then the cleaning on 12/27 and 12/28. Big thanks go out to Jenn the receptionist who orchestrated the appointments that fit right in to my schedule, then there was Jenn the master hygenist! I don't even know where to start with her. All I can say is, does anyone ever look forward to going back to see the dentist? Once she had finished with part one of the cleaning, I couldn't wait to go back the next day! Jenn took great care of me, she was very upbeat, positive and vibrant, which instantaniously rubbed off on me! I was relaxed, and just enjoyed the fact that my mouth gums and teeth were in her caring hands, and feared NOTHING!! Just enjoyed her company as we laughed sang, and just had a blast as well as her educating me and shedding valuable and strong advice while in a very professional way, she delivered her message it in a more "motherly" and "angelic" manner! :) A couple of friends on my FB Page think the world of her aa well!! Thank you so very much Jenn for making my experience enjoyable and fun!

With local anesthesia, your Aspen Dental provider will keep you as comfortable possible. During your procedure, you may feel pressure as your tooth is removed. After your procedure, mild sensitivity is common and should fade after a short period of time. Your provider will provide you detailed after-care instructions and, if needed, medication to manage any discomfort.
Most patients feel much better within a few days. Surgical extractions, especially for wisdom teeth, may require a week or more to fully recovery. Healing is different for everyone and depends on things like your overall health, the complexity of your extraction and how well you follow after-care instructions.
You can usually remove gauze once bleeding has stopped, which may take a few hours after your procedure. Your provider will give you specific instructions to help you heal safely. It’s important to follow these instructions carefully to ensure you fully recover.
If your procedure involves sedation, fasting for several hours ahead of your visit may be required. Your provider will let you know exactly how to prepare. For simple extractions with local anesthesia only, fasting is usually not necessary. If you have questions, reach out to your local Aspen Dental office for further details.
Soft foods are recommended for the first 24 to 48 hours. Options include yogurt, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, soft pastas and smoothies. As healing progresses, you can reintroduce solid foods when it feels right for you.
Make sure to avoid crunchy, sticky or very hot foods until cleared by your provider.
Follow all after-care instructions given to you by your provider. Typically, you’ll be guided to: Avoid smoking or vaping, keep your head elevated, use ice to reduce swelling. Once cleared by your provider, maintain good oral hygiene by brushing gently around the area of your extraction.
