My mother, who has dementia and is living in a nursing home had broken her lower dentures. I was able to bring them in and they were able to repair them in about an hour. I so appreciated this! Everyone there was kind and helpful.
Professional, direct, amazing service and an amazing staff
In the midst of my world falling apart around me, my tooth on my plate fell off. I frantically searched for a place that could get me in right away as I work in sales and refuse to walk around without one of my front teeth. Aspen dental in Miamisburg could get me in first thing in the morning. I don't have insurance so I had no idea what to expect. On the way there, I had a breakdown, I'm telling you, the tears WOULDN'T STOP. I filled out my forms crying, I get my x-rays crying, my mouth is wide open with the doctor examining me.. CRYING LIKE A DAMN BABY. (The past week was mentally and physically exhausting and the tooth thing just broke the straw). The staff was so caring and attentive. Especially Monica, the office manager. I poured all of my problems onto this poor "stranger" and she was nothing short of an Angel. Usually, when my plate breaks, it takes at least a week to get back. Aspen Dental's team had it ready THE SAME DAY! $29 for the exam and x-rays, $58 a month, and a care team out of this world, had not only my smile back but my faith in humanity restored all in the same day. I'm so grateful for you guys. God put me in your hands for a reason. Thank you for going above and beyond for little ol' me. I will forever recommend this office. Love & Light, Jennifer C.

What are dental fillings?

A tooth filling is a restorative treatment that repairs a tooth that has been damaged by decay or minor fractures. When getting a filling, your dentist will remove any decay in your tooth and then fill the leftover space with either composite resin, glass ionomer or amalgam. This restores the shape, function and strength of your tooth while helping to minimize any discomfort or sensitivity.

Types of dental fillings

Composite fillings

The top choice for tooth restoration—a resin composite filling is made to match your tooth’s shade for a natural appearance.

Glass ionomer fillings

Commonly used for small cavities, these fillings release fluoride, which can help prevent further tooth decay.

Amalgam fillings

Silver tooth fillings (amalgam fillings) are durable, cost-effective and can contain metals such as silver, tin and copper.

You may need a dental filling if you have tooth pain, visible holes, dark spots, or sensitivity to hot, cold or sweet foods. Getting treatment early can prevent more serious dental problems.

Tooth-colored composite fillings are often best for front teeth. They blend in naturally, bond securely to your tooth and provide strong support in visible areas.

Yes. Modern tooth-colored fillings are strong and resist normal wear. While they may not last as long as metal fillings in areas of your mouth you frequently chew in, with proper care, they can last many years.

Wondering, “do cavity fillings hurt?” No, they don’t. During your treatment, we keep you comfortable with a local anesthetic. You may feel pressure, but should not feel pain. Any mild sensitivity afterward usually goes away within a few days.

Avoid chewing with the tooth that was filled until the numbness wears off. Brush and floss gently around the area as normal, and avoid sticky or hard foods for the first day. Maintain regular oral hygiene and schedule routine dental checkups to keep the filling in good condition.
