My son has seen Dr. Stephanie Aboody for over a year, and our experience has been outstanding from the start. What stands out most is how genuine she is. She's knowledgeable, honest, and clearly cares about her patients, but she's also funny and personable in a way that's rare to find in healthcare. She has a natural ability to put people at ease, whether she's talking to a nervous child or answering a parent's questions. As a parent, I've always appreciated that she takes the time to explain things clearly and gives straightforward recommendations based on what's best for the patient. I've never felt rushed, dismissed, or treated like just another appointment. My son trusts her, enjoys seeing her, and leaves appointments smiling, which isn't something many parents can say about dental visits. Great dental care matters, but so does the experience. Dr. Stephanie Aboody brings both. She combines professionalism, kindness, humor, and genuine compassion, making patients and families feel at ease. We're incredibly grateful for the care she's provided and would recommend her without hesitation, which means so much to me!! Thank you for what you do and for what you take on each day!!
This place is great. The employees, the atmosphere, all of it. I was told by a few people not to come here because they had to pay hundreds and thousands of dollars for their treatments, the people were rude, etc. My particular treatment IS thousands of dollars, but it’s my own fault and for dental care costs, these wonderful people gave me a great deal. A huge shoutout to Dr. Aboody. She’s simultaneously stern but kind, comforting but informative and NOT judgmental. She didn’t make me feel ashamed for the state of my teeth and that’s my biggest praise. I'm editing to add that I didn't even realize how much of a deal these people cut me. I went through all stages of grief in a span of an hour and after some research, I finally then realized how much these WONDERFUL people are doing for me and my situation. So a huge shout out to the administration woman whose name escapes me. THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone here and I look forward to continuing my treatment here!
I never thought I’d give a dental office a 5 star review for a root canal, but my experience at Aspen Dental in Waterville deserves that rating! Dr. Z is very skilled at this procedure. The pain was minimal and was only during the application of Novocain. The entire process took less time than expected. I hope I never need another root canal, but if I do I’ll have it done at Aspen Dental in Waterville.

What are dental fillings?

A tooth filling is a restorative treatment that repairs a tooth that has been damaged by decay or minor fractures. When getting a filling, your dentist will remove any decay in your tooth and then fill the leftover space with either composite resin, glass ionomer or amalgam. This restores the shape, function and strength of your tooth while helping to minimize any discomfort or sensitivity.

Types of dental fillings

Composite fillings

The top choice for tooth restoration—a resin composite filling is made to match your tooth’s shade for a natural appearance.

Glass ionomer fillings

Commonly used for small cavities, these fillings release fluoride, which can help prevent further tooth decay.

Amalgam fillings

Silver tooth fillings (amalgam fillings) are durable, cost-effective and can contain metals such as silver, tin and copper.

Explore answers to common questions so you know what to expect—before, during and after your dental filling visit at Aspen Dental.

You may need a dental filling if you have tooth pain, visible holes, dark spots, or sensitivity to hot, cold or sweet foods. Getting treatment early can prevent more serious dental problems.

Tooth-colored composite fillings are often best for front teeth. They blend in naturally, bond securely to your tooth and provide strong support in visible areas.

Yes. Modern tooth-colored fillings are strong and resist normal wear. While they may not last as long as metal fillings in areas of your mouth you frequently chew in, with proper care, they can last many years.

Wondering, “do cavity fillings hurt?” No, they don’t. During your treatment, we keep you comfortable with a local anesthetic. You may feel pressure, but should not feel pain. Any mild sensitivity afterward usually goes away within a few days.

Avoid chewing with the tooth that was filled until the numbness wears off. Brush and floss gently around the area as normal, and avoid sticky or hard foods for the first day. Maintain regular oral hygiene and schedule routine dental checkups to keep the filling in good condition.
