I am 40 years old and a big ol baby when it comes to the dentist so for me to give a rating of 5 stars says a lot!!! My teeth began breaking in my twenties, but the dentists I went to back then refused to pull them. I was spending over $1,000 a year to keep them fixed!!!!!! So I decided to just let them go until they had no choice but to pull them and get dentures. Needless to say when I showed up at Aspen Dental, my smile looked something like a 6 month old Jack-O-Lantern. ... See More NOT ONE WORD was said about the condition of my teeth and how I should have done a better job of taking care of them! They gave me several options to get them fixed and believe it or not they started with the cheapest option!!!! I opted for a full surgical extraction and titanium implants in my lower jaw to hold my dentures in place better. Within a month of my first visit I was getting them pulled. The team was great the entire way through the process and explained everything in detail. I am now learning to live with dentures and when I had concerns they got me in the same day to look them over and did a quick adjustment. The ladies up at the front desk are completely awesome and friendly. We always manage to have a good laugh while I am waiting for my appointment. They have answered every question I have had and put me at ease as soon as I walk through the door. I would absolutely recommend Aspen to anyone!!!

Root canal in Vincennes, IN

If you’re dealing with ongoing tooth pain or infection, a root canal may be the recommended treatment. At Aspen Dental in Vincennes, our care team provides root canal treatment close to home—so you don’t have to wait to feel relief.

What is a root canal?

A root canal is an endodontic treatment that cleans infection inside your tooth so we can save it instead of taking it out. If left untreated, the pulp that has nerves or tissue may die as a result of infection. Left untreated, an infected tooth can cause damage and lead to other issues. At Aspen Dental, your comfort is our priority at every step—we’ll explain everything and keep you comfortable throughout the process. If cost is what’s holding you back, don’t delay your visit—we accept most insurances and financing options—so you’ll know exactly what to expect.

What’s the process of getting a root canal at Aspen Dental?

At Aspen Dental, your comfort is our priority at every step:
1
Initial assessment
We examine the tooth, take X-rays and explain your care plan.
2
Local anesthesia
The affected tooth and surrounding area are numbed completely, so you remain comfortable throughout the procedure.
3
Removing the infection
We carefully remove the infected pulp.
4
Cleaning and shaping
The inside of the tooth is cleaned and prepared.
5
Sealing the tooth
A biocompatible filling material seals the canals to protect the tooth from further infection.
6
Restoring the tooth
Most patients need a crown placed afterward to strengthen and protect the treated tooth for long-term use.

Do I need root canal treatment?

You might need root canal treatment if you notice: tooth pain that doesn’t go away, sensitivity to hot or cold even after the infection is gone, pain when chewing, a cracked or broken tooth exposing the nerve, swelling in the gums or jaw, or a tooth that looks darker than the rest. These are all signs of infection, and by treating it quickly, Aspen Dental could save your tooth.
