Dr El-Hennawey was amazing. I was apprehensive about my root canal and she set me at ease and the procedure wasn't painful at all.
What could have been a bad situation turned out to be a great one due to the professionalism of Dr. Jones and Pam today. I appreciate the patience and understanding. Friendly, personable professional team. Thank you! Had a root canal to save a tooth I did not think was possible to save - Dr. El-Hennawey, had the most gentle touch and injection series I’ve ever dealt with! I would request her again if I need another. She made everything pain and stress free. I can’t think her enough for her professionalism and skill set! Hi all, Google wouldn’t allow me to add a brand‑new review for a new doctor, so I’m updating my previous one. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Rodriguez, Alex, and Belkys (spelling). This staff is truly exceptional, and here’s why: I came in a mess—one of my teeth had broken off at the gum line after a few years away from the dentist. Their bedside manner was informative, caring, gentle, and thorough. They completely put my mind at ease. They helped me clearly understand all of my treatment options, walked me through financial choices, and made the entire process stress‑free (which I really needed). I’m incredibly grateful for how gentle and compassionate they were throughout everything. Even on the day of my appointment, I changed my treatment choice from what I had decided the night before—and once again, they were understanding and supportive. I would recommend this location, the doctor, and the entire staff to anyone looking for a professional, welcoming, and very clean dental office in the area. Thank you, Aspen Dental South Tampa!
Moved to South Tampa last year, didn't have a dentist yet. Suddenly I had an emergency, and the closest place that was open and could take me right away was Aspen Dental. I had never used a chain dental clinic before, but gave it a shot. They were great. Easily worked with my insurance. Been back a few times and each time I wasn't sitting in the waiting room long. It's hard to give a dentist a 5 star rating because I hate going to the dentist! But taking that into account, they make it as least painful as possible. Only small complaint is that they are located right next to a Chick-Fil-A so the parking lot gets busy with cars around lunch time. I recommend you schedule appointments morning or afternoon instead.

Dental crowns in Tampa, FL - South FAQs

Explore answers to common questions so you know what to expect—before, during and after your dental crown visit at Aspen Dental in Tampa office.

A dental crown is a cap placed over a tooth to protect it. It helps fix teeth that are weak, broken or misshapen. Your Aspen Dental dentist shapes the tooth, takes a mold and then places the crown on top. The crown looks and works like a real tooth.

Dental crowns can last up to 15 years. They last longer when you brush, floss and visit your dentist often. Chewing on hard foods can wear them down. If the crown gets damaged, your dentist may be able to replace it.

Crowns don’t respond to whitening treatments, so their color remains the same. If you whiten your natural teeth, your crown may no longer blend in. For the best color match, it’s usually recommended to whiten your teeth before getting a crown.

Yes, you can eat normally once the crown is set in place. At first, it’s a good idea to chew on the other side of your mouth. Try to avoid sticky or hard foods that might loosen the crown.

Dental crowns don’t need special care, but you still need to brush and floss every day. Regular dental visits help keep the crown and your other teeth healthy. Avoid grinding your teeth and ask your Aspen Dental dentist if a night guard might help.
