Dr. Hilda Prieto was born and raised in Colombia and is a graduate of Universidad Nacional De Colombia, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Prieto completed two years of an International Dental Program (IDP) at Universidad De La Salle in Mexico. Following Dental School she completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at Community Regional Medical Center and Veterans Hospital in Fresno, California. Here she received extra training in implants restoration, periodontal procedures, surgical extractions, prosthetic rehabilitation, and root canal therapy. The residency also involved performing dentistry on special needs children and adults in the dental clinic and under general anesthesia in the hospital operating room. Dr. Prieto has received multidisciplinary training and has spent time intubating patients in the operating room and treating dental and non-dental medical patients in the hospital emergency room. In addition to her studies, Dr. Prieto especially enjoyed going on mission trips to provide and supervise dental care on underserved children in the isolated rural areas of Colombia. Dr. Prieto enjoys dentistry and is passionate about providing her patients quality care. She practices comprehensive dentistry and takes into consideration the impact of oral health on overall health. She strives for excellence through expanding her knowledge in all fields of dentistry, and remains up to date with the latest technology. She believes as the practice of dentistry has evolved over the years, technology and research has allowed for us to be more gentle and predictable, providing patients more comfortable and reliable care. She has been involved with the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Fresno Madera Dental Society, Florida Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Hanna Study Club. As a Florida transfer, Dr. Prieto enjoys taking advantage of the year round warm weather. In her free time, she enjoys heading to the beach, scuba diving, kayaking, bike riding and keeping up with her favorite sports teams. She is an avid fan of FIFA. She enjoys the times she spends with her family and friends.
