Unlike removable dentures, permanent dentures won't slip when you're eating or talking because they are anchored by dental implants. Your care team will surgically place them below your gum line, all in a comfortable and caring setting. Let’s walk you through it.
Getting your permanent dentures is a road to a brand new smile. It can take several months to complete, but your Aspen Dental care team will be with you every step of the way—from insertion to healing. Here's what they'll do:
Permanent Dentures | Removable Dentures |
Fit securely | Can sometimes slip when eating or talking |
Retain the shape of your face for a more youthful appearance | Do not prevent bone less, so can change the shape of your face over time |
Require no special cleaners or fixatives | Require more steps for cleaning and care |
Involve oral surgery | Do not involve surgery |
You may choose permanent dentures if you need to replace an entire row of teeth. This is a more cost-effective option than having a series of dental implants. If you need just a few teeth replaced, you may opt for dental implants. For implants, an artificial tooth or crown will fit over each implant. The cost and durability of each implant will vary with the type of material selected for the crown.
