Aspen Dental-Jacksonville Florida (Shoppes at Southside) first of all has a great parking lot. Upon entering, the Lobby area is clean and smells clean. The sign in sheet was straightforward. Their Front Desk Assistant, Tia , spoke to me professionally and with Kindness. Tia let me know of the availability of appointments and went above and beyond to speak to her team about getting EVERYTHING I needed done same-day. Daisha (I hope I am spelling her name correctly-forgive me if I’m not) handled my x-rays, and she really cares about the precision in the x-ray photos and was very gentle when placing the instruments needed to prop my mouth open. Daisha also cleans behind herself and keeps all areas of the rooms clean. She introduced me to Dr. Wilbur, whom is the Dentists. Dr. Wilbur has SUCH a great personality and she knows her audience and information. She didn’t play any games about making sure I know what 3,4,4,2,2,4,5 (etc.) ment. She really loves Jacksonville too. I appreciate her passion to help clients reach optimum dental hygiene. Some and in between I saw a young man, Malachi, in and out of the rooms, he is the Dental Assistant, and he made SURE the vibes were right with the music, he definitely sets the tone in making sure his Dr’s and Hygienist were punctual and notified when their presence is needed. After my x-rays and speaking with Dr. Wilbur, they guided me to the “Green Room” with comfortable chairs, and a TV, very relaxing while I wait for answers. Then Daisha walked me to the office of Yannis (Assistant Office Manager) & Monique (Office Manager) to further discuss how I will finance the dental appointment. Monique helped me fill out all the paperwork, helped me get approved for a loan and really empathized with my journey towards becoming more healthy. I needed a deep cleaning, and some fillings, because it’s been 4 years since I had a cleaning and I had some bone damage… BUT this team really put the “petal to the metal” and immediately took action. I knew I didn’t have $2k but I needed SOME MIRACLE! Monique found the perfect creditor that would finance me, and Yannis called another colleague to drive and bring the new Swedish cavity procedure (I forgot the procedure name) all to their Southside location. Yannis said they have an order coming in the next day, but she learned that this was an emergency and I needed everything done as soon as possible. Mannn, I tell you, “Above and Beyond” is not enough to describe Yannis performance. I’m so grateful. Concerning my Dental Hygiene. I almost cried when I was approved because I only had enough money for the first installment payment. Then Monique said, “Congratulations! We can get all this done today”! I almost picked her up while hugging her because I was so grateful! Then Monique walked me to a room where I would meet my Hygienist, Mary! My Hygienists, Mary, Gently, cleaned my teeth, made sure I was comfortable in the chair, woman of a few words while working, which I loved, and never gave me the feeling that she is nervous. I made sure to give her all my attention when she was drilling, cleaning and teaching me about how to use my BRAND NEW toothbrush and water flosser. Much respect to Mary! She is also bilingual (Spanish-speaking) which I also respect. And on the way out, I smiled so big knowing Aspen Dental really cares about who they hire. Thank you Aspen Dental! I know this will be on the Forbes Magazine 2027! I will return for my next visit. Keep doing what you all are doing and greater reviews to come! Aspen Dental Jacksonville (Shoppes at Southside) is exactly where you need to go, to receive the BEST dental work in Jacksonville, Florida!
I am so grateful my Insurance referred me to this practice a couple of years ago! From an early age I was traumatized by dentists, so my least favorite place to go. That was before getting to know the staff at Aspen Dental! Dr. Wilbur has a great bedside manner, and delightful personality. One of her techs, Malachi has the most beautiful spirit and actually makes the appointment fun! Also, Yannis in billing really went above and beyond to help explain everything to me. This practice will change the way you feel about dentistry!
They were amazing! The feeling was confortable, they are very knowledgeable and they really do care about their patients! Thank you everyone!

Wisdom teeth removal treatment in Jacksonville, FL (Shoppes at Southside)

When wisdom teeth cause pain, swelling or infection, it can throw off your whole routine. These teeth often come in at odd angles or don’t fully emerge, which can lead to ongoing discomfort and oral health problems. At Aspen Dental in Jacksonville, our care team makes wisdom tooth removal as smooth as possible. With modern tools, anesthesia and a focus on your comfort, we’re here to help you feel at ease. You’ll always get a clear estimate up front, simple treatment options to choose from and—when available—the chance for same-day or next-day care.

What are wisdom tooth extractions?

Wisdom teeth are the last set of molars to erupt, usually in the late teens or early twenties. Not all wisdom teeth require removal—but when they cause pain, crowding or infection, tooth extraction is often the most effective solution. If the tooth is fully visible, it can usually be removed with forceps under local anesthesia. For teeth that are impacted or partially emerged, a minor surgical procedure may be needed. Your Aspen Dental care team will walk you through which option is best for you and explain how we minimize discomfort.

Reasons to get a wisdom tooth extraction

You may need removal if you experience:
1
Pain or swelling
Discomfort at the back of your mouth can be a sign of trouble.
2
Infections or gum irritation
Inflamed or infected gums around wisdom teeth can worsen if untreated.
3
Pressure or crowding
Wisdom teeth can shift other teeth, causing bite issues.
4
Cysts, decay, or damage
In some cases, wisdom teeth can cause cysts or damage surrounding teeth.

Types of wisdom tooth extractions

Non surgical wisdom tooth extractions

When a wisdom tooth has fully erupted, removal is straightforward. Under local anesthesia, your Aspen Dental dentist gently loosens and extracts the tooth with forceps.

Surgical wisdom tooth extractions

When a wisdom tooth is impacted or angled incorrectly, a surgical approach may be needed. Your Aspen Dental dentist makes a small opening in the gum to remove the tooth, sometimes placing sutures to aid healing.
