Dr. Jeff Schmelter, DMD is a proud graduate of Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine–Illinois, where he developed a strong passion for the surgical and implant side of dentistry. He went on to complete a General Practice Residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, further advancing his clinical expertise. Dr. Schmelter has also completed two prestigious implant fellowships through the California Implant Institute and Implant Seminars, earned a Mastership in Advanced Bone Grafting, and achieved Diplomate status in Implantology from the International Dental Implant Association (IDIA). With advanced training in implantology and oral surgery, Dr. Schmelter provides comprehensive care including dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, fixed prosthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. Known for his steady hand and calm demeanor, he combines technical precision with genuine compassion to help patients feel comfortable, confident, and at ease throughout their treatment. His focus is on delivering predictable, long-lasting results with a commitment to pain-conscious care. Dr. Schmelter’s journey into dentistry began in Northern Arizona, where he worked as an administrator for a nonprofit organization serving developmentally disabled adults. After recognizing a significant need for dental education and access to care among his clients, he began teaching basic oral hygiene and daily life skills. When they affectionately began calling him “Dentist Jeff,” he realized he had found his true calling. Originally born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Dr. Schmelter has lived in several states including Nebraska, Colorado, New Jersey, Illinois, Ohio, and Arizona. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, followed by a master’s degree in Biomedical Science from Midwestern University–Glendale before completing his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Midwestern University–Illinois. After residency, he returned to Phoenix to pursue his passion for compassionate, advanced dental care in the private sector. Outside the office, Dr. Schmelter enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, golfing, playing music, and relaxing with his dog, Stella. He also appreciates a perfectly cooked steak shared with family and friends.
