Veterans Receive Free Dental Care at MouthMobile Stops in Massachusetts and Maine
More than 40 veterans received much-needed dental care at no cost when the Aspen Dental MouthMobile visited Portland, ME on September 20 and Springfield, MA on September 24.
The MouthMobile is a 42-foot-long dental office on wheels that travels the country, where team members provide free dental care to our nation’s veterans. This year the MouthMobile will visit 30 communities.
Dr. Nathan Oakes, Dr. Ryan Salamon, who is also a veteran, and the team of volunteers from the Portland, Maine dental office treated 21 veterans in downtown Portland. Local media attended the event as did Congresswoman Chellie Pingree who talked with the MouthMobile team and veteran patients.
In Massachusetts, Dr. Arun Srinivasan, his associate dentist, Dr. Justine Bednarski, and a team of Aspen Dental volunteers from the Fall River, MA dental office were able to help veteran patients during the MouthMobile’s stop in Springfield. Representatives from U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren’s office visited the Aspen Dental team and spent time speaking with the patients.
Aspen Dental’s commitment to veterans is also front-and-center on its annual Day of Service. On that day, hundreds of Aspen Dental-branded practices nationwide open their doors exclusively to veterans and take care of their most urgent dental needs for free.
These programs and others are part of Aspen Dental’s Healthy Mouth Movement. Since 2014, Aspen Dental teams have donated more than $13 million in dentistry to more than 20,000 veterans and people in need.
