HOW IT WORKS
Aspen Dental’s signature Day of Service will be held Nov. 7, 2026, when participating offices across the country will open their doors to provide free dental care to veterans. The event marks the first milestone in a new five-year commitment to expand the Healthy Mouth Movement, with the goal of providing up to $100 million in donated care for underserved patients nationwide.
While millions of veterans rely on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for healthcare, only about one in four qualifies for comprehensive VA dental benefits, leaving many without regular access to the care they need. Aspen Dental believes access to oral healthcare should not depend on income, geography or life circumstance.
Since its launch in 2014, Day of Service has cared for more than 30,000 veterans, delivered more than $28 million in donated dentistry and provided more than 21,000 hours of free care through Aspen Dental offices nationwide.
Scheduling for Day of Service opens in September, and appointments will fill up quickly. Veterans can learn more online at https://www.aspendental.com/dayofservice/.
Dentists focus on treating the most urgent dental needs of each patient following a limited exam and prescribed X-rays. Examples of care provided from a result of this exam include but are not limited to a filling, extraction, basic cleaning or denture repair. The first priority is to get patients out of pain, and to make them aware of what other dental needs they may have, ideally connecting them with other free or low-cost resources in the community for dental care.
Based on previous Day of Service events, we anticipate more than 500 Aspen Dental offices across the country will participate this year. The full list of participating offices will be available in September, when appointment registration opens for veterans.
Anyone who has served in any branch of the military is eligible to participate in Day of Service.
Over the next five years, the Aspen Dental network will work to deliver up to $100 million in donated dental care and oral health services through the Healthy Mouth Movement. It is one of the largest oral health access initiatives of its kind in the dental industry.
